CULTURE FAMILIARIZATION

 

Sweden is a country with a very international culture. Throughout modernization and globalization, Sweden has become more and more international and it will be a challenge to find a non-English speaking Swede. 

Swedish networking is very independent and B2B is a very common business strategy; intermediate actors is therefore quite uncommon in the private business sector yet more prevalent in the state business sector where certain procedures must be followed.

    Swedish public holidays are:

    January:  1st for New Year's Day,   6th for Epiphany,

    April:  14th for Good Friday, 17th for Easter Monday,

    May: 1st for May Day,    25th for Ascension Day,

    June:  6th for Sweden's National Day,

    December: 25th for Christmas Day and 26th for the Second Day of Christmas

                 

    Moreover, parents tend to fit their schedule to when their kids have school holidays; 

    Christmas holiday 2017: 23/12/2017  -  07/01/2018

    Winter holiday 2018 (depends on region): 12/02/2018 - 16/02/2018    or    19/02/2018 - 23/02/2018

          Stockholm - 26/02/2018  - 02/03/2018

    Easter holidays 2018:  30/03/2018   -   02/04/2018    

    Summer holiday 2018:   11/06/2018  -  19/08/2018

    Autumn break 2018:    29/10/2018  -  04/11/2018 

    Christmas holiday 2018:   22/12/2018  -  06/01/2019
